A "good enough" mom muses about alpha moms, adoption, computers, the State Of The World, Internet quirkiness, and the Kosmik All
How much is that baby in the window?
The Baby Trade, from the Boston Globe Magazine. Interesting read (requires free registration). I think she leaves some things out on the bad side of the question of market forces playing a role in international adoptions.

I found the tone of the article to be very disturbing. As an adoptive parent I couldn't help but feel the author was trying to offend me. By the end of the article it seemed more balanced, but still it had a very "anti-adoption" feel to it.
It does raise very important questions though; ones that don't seem to get as much consideration as nursery color schemes on many adoption forums.
I assume among the bad things you think she left out are the instances of babies in China being stolen and sold that have been in the press lately.

I look at our new son, and think about how wonderfully things have worked out for him and for our family, then I wonder about his birth-mother.
